power converter help needed

just bought a 1989 Jayco 705. plug it into shore power,everything works fineutlets,light and furnace. when I flip the switch over to 12v,nothing. no light,no furnace,no outlets. been a while since I've had an converter in a rv,so am I missing the obvious? battery is fully charged,new fuses. converter is a Carson Power Pack model CP-06FK-2 15 amp. thanks

Are you sure battery is connected with proper polarity. If your getting 12 volt when on shore power the converter is working. It seems to be a battery issue, or bad switch.

There are usually fuses at both the power distribution center and inline out at the battery.

Also check the battery's negative side termination to the chassis

I checked the inline fuse at the battery,scraped the ring terminals to get good contact with the posts on the battery. I'll try to chase down the ground to the frame when I get home from work.

Do you mean the rocker switch that switches between AC and DC?

The neg chassis ground should be close to the battery compartment.

We are assuming that you don't have a battery disconnect switch inline anywhere.

Yep it switches the source, either battery or converter output.

No inline disconnect switch.

took the ground off and scuffed it up real good,nice and shiny now! new rocker switch too. still nothing when switching to 12v.
