power inverter

I just bought my 1993 and set it up plugged in the inverter and no power it humms and I can hit the breaker the 15 amp one a couple of time and it will work for about a second then nothing if any one has an answer can help me out with trouble shooting this I would be great full

Matt,

You stated "INVERTER". Are you talking about the converter that is built into your PUP? What do you have plugged into your 110v receptacles? Unplug everything then start with one appliance. Make sure it is turned off, plug it in then turn it on. If no problem turn it off and unplug it and do the same with another appliance until you are sure that each item is alright. Next, how much amperage are you using when you turn the appliances on as you would under normal circumstances?
