Sorry I didn't follow up on this thread. Popiworks, my setup is just like yours. Jayco sent me the following instructions:

To manually override the power lift:
- Disconnect the unit from the power source.
- Locate the lift wires under the back cover on the hitch, and unplug both wires.
The lift can now be manually operated.

This came from a Starcraft manual. Apparently the switchover year from Starcraft to Jayco had some parts that were different than what was in the 2015 manual the dealer gave us. Ours is a 2016, but the 2016 manual was not available at the time we purchased it.

Smile Power Lift on Jayco 1007UD

I finally got to test the electric override today. I unplugged the motor and connected my 20V Dewalt Drill with 7/16" socket. Worked perfectly both up and down. Get a good grip on the drill as there is a lot of tork. The wires were long enough to pull up where I could disconnect them.

does your motor get slower and slower as the top goes up. I have the same setup and trying to figure out if I have a battery issue or a motor issue.

1007UD Lift Motor

My lift motor would work slower on battery than when trailer connected to AC.
As of this May, motor would not turn on and close inspection revealed that it had been compromised with water and ceased up;

You can not order replacement motor from Jayco, they sell motor and wench housing (the black box the motor is connected to.

Jayco Part No 0235942 must be ordered through Jayco dealer ($540.00). I ordered last week and ETA is 2 to 3 weeks.

wow, that's pricey. I did some research. I think you can get just the motor for $75.

It doesn't look that hard to get the motor out. If your handy at all, I think you could do it. that's what I am going to do. I am not paying jayco $540 for that.

motor

so I decided to take the motor assembly off. 2 bolts and it's off. Took the 8 or 10 screws that holds the housing together. I see there has been some water penetration as the threads on the motor has some rust. So I ordered the motor from the link in the previous thread. $90 with shipping. It looks fairly simple and straight forward to get the motor out, 2 nuts and bolts. Beats paying Jayco $500+ for a box of gears and a motor that you can buy for $90. Hope this helps someone else.

So my question is, how much grease should be in there and what type. Just bearing grease? Should I fill the box up or just cover all the gears really good?

so I replaced my motor and it seems to work marginally better. I just think it's not a strong enough motor. It's meant for a power slide-out. The reduction gears also slow it down way to much in my opinion. I will use it for the summer and see how it goes. If it quits I will convert it to manual.
