Pulley replacement (?)

Has anyone used one of these as a replacement pulley? I am rebuilding the entire lift system in my 1989 Jayco 1006. The previous owner had used one of these and I'm finding it easier to use more of these instead of the hard to find originals. I know that the diameter of the sheave is much greater than the 1/8" cable, but does that matter in this type of use?

Considering that Jayco has a lifetime warranty on the lift mechanism, and I think it goes back that far (1995), did you try going to a dealer and asking for a fix? Admittedly you aren't the original owner, but they might flex a bit on that if you spin a good yarn...

The previous owner had messed with the system so much that if a warranty did apply it would have been voided. He had the wrong size cables, deformed eye bolts, and had used one of these pulleys in a corner with both cables on the same sheave. My plan is to use at least five of these pulleys to organize the two rear cables as they go down the side wall. Most of the original pulleys on the spring tubes are still good and just needed cleaning and lubricating.

Did you get this redo job done??? I just got a 95 eagle 8 with a bad left corner cable. There is no pulley on the corner , only a broken piece of cable and stopper in tube with the spring . I don't see a pulley at all or even guide pulleys going to the corner.

I totally rebuilt the lifting system using different kinds of pulleys and a totally different configuration. I was going to reroute some of the cables but I just want to get it up and running. Thanks to your pics I'll know how. You don't happen to know anything about how the doors work do you? What is going on with the gap between the bottom and top? If ther is something supposed to be there , there isn't.

I haven't done anything with my door yet but mine has an articulated hinge at the top. It looks like you have to release both ends of the top section and let it come down to mate up with the bottom section. My rig is still in the garage so I haven't been able to raise it to full height yet to start work on the walls and door.
