Repairing the canvas anchoring

The plastic anchoring strips to which the canvas on my 2011 Jayco 1007 is fastened are breaking, resulting in gaps between the camper body and the tenting. The canvas is sewn to the anchoring strips. Has anyone had experience in fixing this, and is it an expensive repair?

Maybe something on U Tube. I would try myself before taking in to any RV shop! Sure you could do a better job.

The plastic part on the bottom of the canvas which slides into a channel is quite inexpensive. The expensive part is finding someone to work on this. Usually a business awning company can help sometimes. I do know Jayco will repair tents during a warranty period but I am unaware as to if they do this after warranty is over. You could try calling Jayco to see if they will do it?

Look for a local shop that does boat canvas, if you can buy new plastic they have heavy duty sewing machines and can sew them on pretty cheap

Canvas bottom plastic part

Where does one find the plastic part that sews on to the bottom of the canvas, that slides in the top side rail of the body? Mine are torn in some locations.
