Roof repair

Hello all,

I recently inherited a 1989 jay series 1006 deluxe pop up camper. I am beginning some renovations and am needing to evaluate the possible damage of the roof. I would like to know what the roof is constructed of? Is particle board throughout the entire top or will I find foam? I definitely have to replacement the middle seal with new screws and weather stripping but also want to check if there was any interior damage. From the inside of the camper it all looks good. The side at the bottoms have a little water damage but not too bad.

Most likely a combination of both, Particle board is cheap, I’d use treated plywood if I’d replace it, I’d also look at a rubber roof as a replacement. Also address the lift system, upgrade the eye bolts to 5/16 and weld them shut.

My 90s 1006 was a sandwich of aluminum, foam and a ceiling board that was 3/16ths? thick or so. I had many hail hits that penetrated my top metal. I just filled them in level with silicone and kept on camping.
