scraping steep driveway entrance.

hello, i have a 2010 sienna mini van pulling a 97 jayco 1207kb. assuming the hitch is scraping pretty bad backing it into the driveway. How can i fix or alleviate this? not sure what the angle is on my driveway, but it's an older house, pretty standard ramp.

Is it worth it to invest in some kind of curb ramp: something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Ru...=fsclp_pl_dp_3

I would try the cheap options first. Get some boards to lay in the road for the rear tires of the van to drive over. This could give you a couple inches of elevation that could make the difference. Steep angles are everywhere and I've bottomed out too. I have used those orange honeycomb looking blocks to drive up on to get past the danger spot..

How much is your ball dropping when you hitch up? if it is several inches you might consider a lightweight WDH like the Andersen to pull it up a bit.

You might also try re-distributing your load in both the trailer and the back of the van. Your rear end and the tongue weight may be to much for your Sienna. It could be pushing down your rear so much that your front wheels are running way to light which can kill you and your family in an emergency.

Study weight distribution hitches and why they are used. The search function above can give you some great info.

Yes whd is what I wanted. But we lost our tow vehicle before the trip so I hadn't really time yet to set it up like I wanted to. We just got the tow set up from uhaul. Any one use those air lift 1000 kits?
