Tear in my canopy

Well, when I was at Pace Bend back in .. well, a few months ago, it was kinda windy and my canopy ripped, the tear is about 4 inches at one side, right at the bar at the end. Has anyone ever repaired similar, or should I stick with my ez up until I replace the canopy? It's a carefree.


Also, related to how this ripped, what do you guys do to keep the wind from flipping the canopy up / over the camper? At the beach it's a constant 30 mph plus coming onto shore. Does the carefree have a design flaw, or are all the bag canopies similar in the way they attach to the camper?

We tie ours down every time we open it. Just in case.....

Especially at the beach. Probably might not even put it out there. We have always put stakes in the ground and tied that sucker down. Cost a bundle to replace.

Back in my popup days we would always stake the poles and tie it down as well. A full ice chest makes for a nice added anchor too.

It's an easy(so to speak) take off item and you might have an Awning maker or sail maker in town to do the repair. While their at it have them run another stitch on each side for extra strength.
