To cover or not?
This will be my first time winterizing & storing my PU for the winter. I don't have a garage or shed to park it under. The ones of you in this situation do you cover your camper for the winter? Or is it better not to & trap moisture for months? I have a cover for the AC. If you do, Do you use just a regular poly tarp or a special cover that will breathe? Brand names and vendors please. Thanks in advance!

Adco makes nice covers for trailers, they have them with doors that zip open so you can still get in while its covered and they also have a few different types of covers.Definitely get something that is breathable.Personally at this time I haven't bought a cover for mine and its been fine.I just put a good coat of wax on in the fall and it cleans up nice in the spring.I have also heard some say not to cover the AC and it could cause mold build up from not being able to breathe.I don't see a point to cover them as the top of them is covered already, not like your home AC where it is open on the top and you wouldnt want snow and ice building up inside. That's just my opinion, others may have a more valid reason to cover it

I'm in the same situation - end of the first season and will be winterizing the beginning of November. Since we store on our property and there are a lot of fir/cedar trees in and around the property I decided it would be worth it to cover. The cedar trees are particularly messy this time of year. I went to RV Covers - Trailer Covers - A B C RV Cover - ADCO Products and used their "Fit Finder", picked my specific year, make and model of trailer to find the appropriate cover. I went with the "All Climate/Tyvek" series - and they just happened to have a sale going on this weekend so it ended up being about 45% off list price. The ADCO covers are all breathable and they have a couple of different fabric types depending on the climate where you are located.

When we had a PU, no AC, we raised the nose as high as it would go. Never had any issues

We've had lousy experience with Adco covers twice. The material virtually disintegrates due to sun exposure (and I'm in Ohio, not Florida). If you go with their product, be prepared to only get one winter out of your $100 expense. We're going to try this winter without one. It worries me a bit because we do have an A/C on our PUP which opens us up to more leaks, but I caulked last year and will again before the snow flies and I can't open it up on a regular basis.

I just put my adco cover on. PO used it one year and it still looks new. Mine is covered and winterized. I have had many different type campers including 5th wheel and motor home this is the first time I have covered any of them. the cover came with it so I will try it.

I'm in the same spot too. I stopped by the Jayco dealer & those guys say it's ok not to cover, but if you do, to get a breathable one, same for the wheels, and put boards under the tires. Should be around $100 for all of it. That will likely be my choice.

When we had a popup we bought a cover the first year we had it. It was an Adco cover. Over the winter it ripped and I never bought another full cover again. They are meant to be outdoors. The weather won't hurt them. The decals might fade in the sunlight but that can take years. I do cover the AC and wheels on my trailers.
