Trailer frame

I just bought a new 2019 12UD and I need a WD hitch for my Grand Caravan (mopar hitch, limited to 2000lbs without WD).
Some WD hitches ive been looking at dont fit on 3 inch frames and I can't find this information on any Jayco literature.

Does anyone know the frame thickness?

Congratulations on the new JaySport and welcome to the forum.

Jayco Customer Service might be able to help. Give them a call with your VIN# in hand and ask them. You might be able to ask your salesperson if it's a matter of measuring another trailer on their lot.

I don't understand your tow vehicle's weight limit (2000lbs without WD hitch) and your trailer's weight (2700lbs gross weight from Jayco's site). Does your owner's manual say it's OK to use a WD hitch?

Thanks for the info! Yes the mopar hitch installed by the dealer specifically says 2000lbs without WD but 3800lbs with WD. The vehicle itself is rated at 3600lbs.

take a look at the Andersen hitch. Prior to 1998 I owned several Grand Caravans and towed popups without a WDH. Not sure what has changed.

It's just the way the Mopar hitch is made (it actually replaces part of the bumper). Aftermarket hitches don't have as low capacities without WD. But I may as well just put a WD on it, instead of replacing the hitch at this point.
