Used pop up camper - power requirement

My daughter looked at a1994 Coleman pop up camper over the weekend. She did not pursue the purchase because the person selling it told her the power cord from the camper connected to shore power only provided power to the outlets, not the ceiling lights. The seller was not sure what was required to allow for the ceiling lights to work.
My daughter is wanting to buy a camper, but doesn't know what requirements to look for in her search. What specifics should I tell her to look for in the power department?

Lites are probably 12 vdc, powered by a battery, hopefully charged by shore power.

Hopefully, there would be a power converter to provide power to the ceiling lights and recharge the batery.

Have her find where the power cable enters the RV and look for the converter in that area.

X-2 There is usually a switch that lets you select between battery and shore power for the ceiling lights.

A popup and regular camping trailer are the same in that the lights are 12 volt. The furnace, water pump and sometimes the refrigerator require 12 volts. If it has electric brakes they also need a source of 12 volts. Unless you have a very basic trailer there should be a converter that turns 120 AC into 12 volt dc to run the lights and any other 12 volt items and to recharge the battery. The battery provides the 12 volts to run lights and any other items you have when not plugged in.
