Water Leak

We are new pop up owners and recently purchased a very nice used 2008 Jayco model 1207. We have not opened the plumbing before and had a problem on our first attempt. When hooking up our garden hose to the city water inlet we noticed a leak after just a few minutes, it is a pretty good size leak and seems to be near the water heater area but not sure. Are there any valves closed that could cause overflow etc. The owners manual is not very detailed so we are hoping that someone may be able to point us in the right direction.

Thanks

It could be a few simple things that were done to winterize it. Open the exterior cover of the HWT, check to see if the drain plug is installed and tight, also check the pressure relief valve which has a handle on it, make sure its in the down closed position.

It could be simple and it could a pain in the butt.

An important question: did you utilize a pressure regulator when you hooked up the hose? Trailer water pipes themselves may be stamped for pressures in the 160PSI range (above what would come out of your hose from your faucets) but most of the fittings and elbow and joints throughout max out in the 65-70PSI range (which is usually well below the output from your garden hoses and household/trailer park faucets.
