After much debate and changing our minds on the Jayco Feather 16XB (maybe a bit too heavy for my pickup), we are purchasing the 2017 12SC this weekend. I was curious what prices are elsewhere. I really feel we are getting a good deal, at least compared to the MSRP and the price of other things we saw at the RV show.

The add-ons for the PUP include Bath/shower, aluminum rims, plumbing, bigger furnace, stereo and lift kit with key fob. Final delivered price 13500. I'm happy to be joining the Jayco family.

Regarding prices, if you can get somewhere near 30% off MSRP, you did fine - anywhere.

The MSRP on RV's is outrageous everywhere!


30% off list is normal when actually buying.


Start at 60% off and move 1/2 the amount they drop (rounded down) at each iteration.


Bring a companion to keep the rep busy while you do the math. Write your next offer on a piece of paper and slide it face down across the table.


These tactics move the pressure to the dealer. While the rep is having a smoke with the sales manager, get up, walk around, get a drink of water... Stay cool, be prepared to walk away if you don't get what you sincerely believe is a good deal.


There are plenty of businesses hawking the same product.

It's a four banger tacoma and we want to put our scooters (160CC) in the bed so the 16XB was a little heavy. This should work out just fine.

With the options you have the price looks pretty good, MSRP is just over 17k, -30% is about 12k, plus delivery, sales tax, title, plates, dealer garbage fees so your 13.5k looks reasonable.
