No idea what the wooden hinged pieces are for. I have 1 one each side, and am clueless on what they do.

It looked more like the flipper-schnipper in ours. Down, the reflux feed into the debumpinator is full off. Up, it's completely reset and the marsal vane defabulators come on full bore.
