Question where to buy stove support leg and awning poles?

where can I buy the support leg for the stove when using it outside on my 2004 qwest8u?

I also need to find the polls for the external awning.

Thanks,

Gerrit

Hi Gerrit, If it's the support leg I think it is, it can be replaced by a piece of electrical conduit (inexpensive). Some years ago I needed the same support, and made it myself. Cut the conduit to needed length and press the ends until its flat and will fit into the brackets. I flattened mine in a vise. Once it's flattened, it will bend easy.

The polls for the awning can probably be replaced by the manufacturer, or they will recommend a source. If it were mine, I would check a sporting / camping goods store for an acceptable (maybe less expensive) alternative.

I would say ditto on the stove support, I am sure it is available through a Jayco dealer, but it would be less expensive to make your own.

I do know the awning poles can be purchased through Jayco, but they are kinda pricey for what they are. I'd either try to make your own, or get a different awning. We actually had our awning flip completely over the roof of our Jay Series 1207, didn't hurt the fabric at all but about half the poles were bent. After finding out the cost of the poles, we ended up getting an "aftermarket" awning, it was much easier to set up and didn't cost much more than replacing the poles.

Where did you find the aftermarket awning? I don't care for the one that came with ours.

Here is a link, we got the Supreme with XL hardware which allows you to attach the legs to the camper. I put the brackets on the frame rather than the sides of the camper, worked great.

Thanks for the conduit idea. I think that's the route I'm leaning towards as the dealer couldn't even find the part.

As for the awning, I received a ridiculously expensive quote so I will be researching the free-standing awning as well.

... something else you might want to consider. We found the pictured shelf to be very handy when we weren't using the propane stove. Sometimes we used an electric frying pan or hot plates instead.

I bought the aluminum strip that attaches to the back of the stove, and screwed it onto a board to make the shelf. I wanted to keep the original support with the propane stove, so I made an extra one from conduit.

I went thru the dealer and he got me an upgraded Carefree awning with the legs that mount to the side of the camper. Now if I could just find the brackets that the stove leg goes into I'd be a very happy camper indeed!

If the dealer is having problems finding the part, you may want to contact Jayco directly, those parts are available.
