Wierd Electrical problem

Hi all, I hope someone can help.

We purchased a new to us Jay series 806, and are really enjoying it.

With the trailer plugged into a 30amp service, all electrical switches, lights, and fridge work fine.

Before heading out on our next camping trip I had charged the battery, and it also charged during the drive to the campground (no hookups at campground).

Just after setting up the trailer I noticed that power to the radio was on (the radio was notturned on, but was lit up), I turned on the radio and got sound from a station, I then reached up and turned on a light. It lasted about a second and all power from the battery had shut off.

I checked the breakers, all three were in the 'off' position. I tried turning them all on, but did not get any lights or the radio to turn on. I didn't have a volt meter to test the battery after this. But after our trip I tested the battery a couple days after and it was still fully charged.

I am wondering if someon out there might have an idea as to the issue.

One other question... Is there a switch that gets activated once the sink has been flipped upright? I know that some or most of the pop ups out there have something like this to complete the circuit for the trailer.

Thanks for your help.

Stereo is 12 volts. 12 volts is fuses. Circuit breakers are 120 volts. Two entirely different systems. HOWERVER, fridge, WH, A/c use 12 volts for control circuits. Lights are 12 volts. Yes many pop ups do have a inline switch that contacts on when top is raised.

Don't forget the simple ones. Check both battery posts and make sure you have solid connections. A poor connection could have allowed the tiny amount the radio needed. My popup had a switch on the edge of camper top that depressed to shut all power to lights so they wouldn't burn holes in the canvas. After you check all the fuses also check the ground from the panel to the frame and the ground from the batter to the frame.

Yes, a pop up will have a safety switch that activated either when the roof is raised, a bunk end has been pushed out, or the sink has been flipped to the upright position. I'm not sure which location your switch is, but these are the 3 I know of. Also, there should be a 12 volt fuse near the battery in a weatherproof plug.

Can the TV 12v system be enough to charge a deep cycle battery? Might need to be on a charger designed for a deep cycle charge, then the TV can keep it topped off going down the road. There might not of been very much charge on the battery when you turned on the light(s).
