Yellowstone and Grand Teton camping suggestions

Our relatives who have a popup and 3 small kids are looking at camping in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons for a week total. Have enough water/battery for 2 or 3 nights if electric not available. Probably in July/August this summer.

Asking anyone where they would suggest in Yellowstone and if full, suggestions for around there in private campgrounds or state parks. Plus suggestions for 3 or 4 nights near the Tetons. Looking for clean and quiet with electric optional but not required.

Unless something has changed recently, none of the campgrounds inside the park have electric except Fishing Bridge, but popups are not allowed there. When we went to Yellowstone we stayed at a small private campground in West Yellowstone, MT. West Yellowstone has restaurants and other things to do and it's about 25 miles from Madison Junction.

When we go back we're going to stay at Wapati Campground, a USFS campground on US 20 about half-way between Cody, WY and Fishing Bridge. The campground is right on the banks of the North Fork of the Shoshone River and there are several sites with electric and water. https://goo.gl/maps/rQGusfp7rR4DmiGi7

At Grand Teton, we spent a couple nights in a FHU site at Colter Bay RV Park on Jackson Lake. We'd gladly stay there again.

Poking at a campfire with a stick is one of life's great satisfactions.

Your late to the game for inside the park reservations. Like already stated no water or electric hookups for pop ups. When we stayed in park with pop up we charged battery at gas stations every couple of nights. Last time that was $10 each time. Look at West Yellowstone it has several campgrounds in area including parks. Closer to park than Cody. The Tetons you will have same problem getting reservations. Look at RV parks in town or just south of town. Safe travels

Enjoy the journey

Grizzly RV on the West Side of Yellowstone. Colter Bay RV park for the Grand Teton's. Book early for both.

There also are two KOAs just outside (west) of West Yellowstone. You can get to all parts of the park, and the Tetons, within an easy day’s drive from West Yellowstone.

Whoopee, snagged 3 nights in Yellowstone the week after the 4th!. That is the max on my battery if we scrimp on heat. My change to lithium 100 as battery is getting old. Will take to a auto store and see if they can do a capacity test.

Still considering where to stay for the other 5 nights in the Teton/Yellowstone area. Any more suggestions in that area would be appreciated.

Yellowstone

My DW and my favorite place to camp with our 5er when visiting Yellowstone is called Red Rocks Camp Ground in Island Park Idaho. Island Park is only 20 min west of West Yellowstone. Beautiful Camp ground close to Henry's Lake. Its way less expensive then the KOA's just outside of West Yellowstone and way less chaotic. Peaceful and quite. Even if you don't stay they you need to go the web site and check it out.
