Last post - today i received a new latex normal size queen bed from Casper - a new mattress company that only sells one mattress that gets rave reviews.
So i have been working on a plan to have a custom queen mattress made as the queen short is just annoying too short for my 6'2 1/2" frame. I was talking to boat mattress builders about adding a 6" section that could fold up on top of the mattress or which would velcro on the end of the 74" short mattress to make the normal 80" length.
But finally i decided that a latex/memory foam mattress is fairly flexible - why couldnt the end just compress the 6" when the slide is moved into travel
Got the mattress today - unfolded on the bed platform and moved the slide in- no big deal - the mattress just compressed the 6" against the back wall section - which only touches about a third of the mattress width in any case.
I am adding an extra piece of plywood on the end of the platform that canslide in andc out also.
