We just returned from the mighty Mississippi. We"re basically FHU campers but wanted to experience a COE site. I made reservations on the Gov. Web site and got a great site facing the water for $ 10 night, a new and pleasant experience. It took some time, but I figured out how to use a fresh water tank and how long my black and grey will last :} Mrs. and I began to notice that there was an unusual amount of traffic going by our site and slowing down to look. I thought they were admiring my Precept, felt quite puffed up about it to. I come to find out that the reservation system for COE Parks is new and campers scope out sites for the dates you have reservations for, so they know when to move in on your site. It felt like using the bathroom at Soldier Field for a Bear game. All in all, it was a new and pleasant experience and opens up a whole new world of opportunity for us to see COE, State Parks and National Parks. We’re senior citizens but haven’t stopped learning!
