Spent 10 days between Copper Harbor (Fort Wilkens State Park) and Indian Lake State Park west of Manistique. Despite the weather being very cold the last week of July, we managed to have a great time. Copper Harbor had temps as high as 48 degrees two days straight with a steady drizzle. The other 3 days it got in the 60's. the mountain biking was top notch. The trails up in the Brockway Mountain were awesome. If you like to bomb down 2000 foot elevations, this is for you. I had a great time for sure
Indian Lake has a nice little fishery where we caught a good number of Perch. We went to Palms Book State Park just down the road. They have the Big Spring which is a deep cold spring that has trout and other species. You cannot fish it but you can look at these mammoth fish using the floating raft the traverses back and forth over the spring. We also went to Fayette State Park which has a late 1800's pig iron manufacturing community that is well preserved. Very cool if you like history
