Seneca front jump seat installation
Since I travel regularly with just my two grandsons I wanted a safe way they could both sit up front and see the passing scenery. By utilizing a Ford F-series seat installed using brackets I fabricated I now have a seat I can easily remove when it is just the wife and I and we don't need it.
I used SEM vinyl paint to change it from the original grey to a brown that is close to my front seat color.
Jump seat folded down rear view. It has a fold-down cup holder but it likely won't be used.
Jump seat travel position rear view. Rear bracket is visible bolted down to the installed mounting tabs.
Jump seat folded down front view. There are two cup holders and a storage area in this mode.
Rear mounting tabs. These tabs remain in place even when seat removed. Rear seat bracket bolts to these tabs.
Front bracket with bolts hidden under chair skirts. When front seat bracket removed mounting tabs are completely hidden.
Front bracket showing lower bolts, when unbolted the bracket is easily removed.
Passenger seat lower bracket. Bolts to existing seat bracket and will stay in place even when jump seat is removed.
Driver's seat lower bracket. Bolts to existing seat bracket and will stay in place even when jump seat is removed.
Fabricated brackets, powder coated black.
Jump seat travel position. There is also a storage bin under the lower seat cushion.
