Thanks, I did indeed find a dealer who suggested I request a second adjuster be assigned to my case file per Illinois law. He was much more reasonable. My final adjustment was equal to 50% of the cost of new unit and I kept mine. The damage does not effect usability, just resale.
The real fight was over damage to the house siding, roof and AC unit. The second adjuster really helped there. Got now siding, roof repaired and new AC. About 12,000$$$$ more thn the first guy. Thanks!
