All was working well with our 2021 Jayco Redhawk SE model 26xd until we tried to use our Lippert leveling system. It worked at previous campgrounds.
I currently have no power to:
- Lippert auto leveler control inside the house at steps
- cameras (backup or lane changing) do not work
- the power mirrors on the E450 Ford stopped working
Any idea where to look?
House batteries are new August 2023. (2 lead acid ganged together) Everything worked well for several stops at different campgrounds.
It still might be a couple of things, so a digital meter will help sort it out. First, the age of the battery has no bearing on performance. If it's been run down or killed a few times, it can be permanetly damaged. I had to replace my chassis battery, which was 6 months old, because it wouldn't hold a charge on my new rig. Seems Ford, MorRyde, Jayco and the dealer let it run down too many times.
So, I would check to see if your converter is actually charging the battery and not having issues. Everything can work when plugged in, but if the battery isn't being charged, you'll have low/no power when unplugged.
Second, are you sure the battery is OK (like I mentioned above)? After sitting for a few hours, or even a day or two, it should still read above 12.6 volts. If you get low readings, either the battery is bad or not being charged by the rig. Then, you can do a load test on the battery, to see just how "well" it is.
