The bed support is very portable as it isn't nailed in. I suppose it's more of a "jack stand" type of support. Reason I did it this was two-fold. I like to slide chairs and items back under the bed from the pass through storage area. I've found lifting the bed to access gear is difficult. Second, I'm kind of cautious about making permanent, fixed structural changes to the unit as it's still under warranty. My dealer said that any modifications to the trailer can void the warranty. So I've pretty much gone with mods that I could remove if I had to service a warranty issue.. Me being my paranoid self I suppose, LOL
