12 volt tv and elec outlets

If I were to plug in a 12 volt tv while dry camping would it work? I am talking about using the same plug in outlets I use with a "regular" tv on shore power.

Just found the "cig outlet" 12 volt outlet at my tv aerial hook up. I'm faster than a speeding bullet.
