Propane While Towing

Our fridge runs off of propane and electricity. Should we run it off propane while towing?

Oft disagreed upon question, on these pages, but my answer is YES, that's how the fridge is designed to operate....

AGREE! We do it every time we travel.

This question is almost like asking a car guy about oil. You will get lots of answers. Ultimately the answer is yes you can, sometimes there are restrictions such as at gas stations, some tunnels.

Our fridge gets turned on in the spring when the trailer is taken out of storage, and turned off in the fall when it's put back into storage. It runs all summer, even while the trailer is being towed. Keeps the beer cold. :D

I usually switch to propane while still in my driveway, a few hours (or even a full day) before I drive, just to ensure that the fridge "stabilizes" on propane, for the drive......

I flip it over to propane just before we set off on our trip.

Gosh,,,,what a question!!! I'm surprised the "safety police" have not jumped all over this thread. There are those that will tell you that being on propane will cause an explosion at the fueling station. Those same people smoke while fueling their own vehicle.

As for me, the answer is YES. Kitty and I turned the fridge on when we picked the camper up at the dealer and it has not been off yet. Been on elect or propane for 4 yrs now, no problems.
