40’ restriction

Has anyone been restricted from a campground for units longer than 40’?

Looking to upgrade to the 377RLBH which posts a length of 42+ feet
Wondering about the impact

Federal Parks and some State Parks are the biggest problems.

Our Northpoint 375 is 44'.
In the past when we book a site you put in the size of your rig and you'll be denied for pretty much every site. What we do is put in for a rig size of 40' and then look over our site options. You can click on the site and it'll give you the site dimensions. If the site dimension is 48' or deeper we book it and fit on it, just barely for a 48' site but... We've never had a park ranger/staff come and physically measure either.

You may need to book well in advance to get those few longer spots. Pull through sites are almost always long enough. When booking, we look for additional parking for our truck in case we don’t fit in a back in shorter spot.

We have a 377 and have never had an issue. A lot of your length on the 377 is well behind the last set of Jack's. This leaves a lot of room for the tail to hang off. Thus would only be an issue if there was a tree or other object tight up against the back of the site, because then you couldn't hang over. We always book 40' spaces without issue.

If you research you'll see a lot of the national and state parks that are 35' and under have limited to no hookups. If you're like us part of the reason you chose a 377 is comfort, so you wont be staying at places without hookups much.

Plug for the 377 - Ours is 2.5 years old with 16k miles with probably over 100 nights in it - we just love it. Last week we slept 6 girls comfortably between the bunk room and loft. It's just great for kids.

That's why we stayed under 40'. Many of our favorite sites can't accommodate such a long unit.

We have a 32 foot Greyhawk and like to stay at California state campgrounds. There are a number of locations where we can't even fit.

My son has a 40 foot 5th wheel and I was researching sites where he could go. Being that long severely limited the State campgrounds he could go to. The private ones may have better options, I just prefer our State ones due to a discount I receive.

I'm glad I did not go larger now. I had no idea RV sites would not simply fit anything and everything.

you just might not fit that is the issue. do as you want though.
