Inverter location - 2014 Jayco Greyhawk

Can you help me locate the Xantrex Pro XM1000 Inverter on my 2014 Jayco Greyhawk 31FS? It keeps indicating an Error E05. I have removed all loads on the 1 outlet and tried resetting it but nothing helps. I plan to replace it if I can find it. I have checked throughout the rig including inside and outside but can't find it. The control panel is just inside the front door and it only has the remote cover from the unit.

I did locate an electrical device under the rig about 3 feet from the Onan generator and 3 feet from the battery box. I wonder if this is the converter though. It is rather large being about 10 inches wide and 15-18 inches long.

Any help that you can give is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam

I do not know about yours but mine is under the bed

Grumpy 03-25-2020 04:55 PM

Here's what it looks like.. Many have said it is under the bed.

Inverter location - 2014 Jayco Greyhawk

Great! Thanks! My rig is still buttoned up for winter in CO and I tried looking under the bed from the outside compartment door. I didn't see it from there but I need to lift up the mattress and board under the bed to check it from that angle. There may be a compartment behind the fuse box that I can't see from underneath.

I will check it tomorrow. Have you tried replacing one of these? If not too complex, I will do myself.

Thanks,
Sam

Sam, see the picture of my 16 Greyhawk. It may help you locate your inverter.
Hope this helps, Jimmyd

2016 31FK here, not an FS.
Under the bed, as others have said.

after you lift the bed up a wood box on the back has all the goodies and the rat nest wiring

Just so you know what you're looking at in this picture, the inverter is on the left, charge converter in the middle mounted to the wall land the Automatic Transfer Switch is on the right. If you need to replace yours, I actually have a Xantrex XM1000 and XM1800 sitting in my garage available to sell since I upgraded my inverter (twice). These both work well!

Outstanding picture! Thank you for doing this! I will hook up my batteries today and do a dive under the bed!

Dot&Sam 03-26-2020 10:10 AM

Excellent! I may take you up on the offer. I seem to recall that I read that the Xantrex 1000 has a fuse built in and I want to check it before I replace it.

While you're looking at that wiring mess under the bed, check the spray-foam around the wires coming up through the floor.

My foam was incomplete and I had a mouse or two come up through that hole and build a mouse nest in the rats nest.

Allen: Greetings. I located the inverter, etc. under the foot of the bed. Whew! I believe that I can swap it out for another one. I would like to talk with you about the 2 you have. Let's switch over to our email addresses. You can reach me at gsamfoster@yahoo.com.
Thanks, Sam

Is that the actual one that Jayco installs? The specs says it's a modified sine wave, not a pure sine wave inverter.

Allen: Greetings. I received your reply via my email a few days ago but now I can't find it. I do want to follow up with you on it. Please resend your email to me.

Not your fault but, I hope that was the wiring techs first day on the job.

Absolutely no excuse or reason for a mess like that. That's the RV industry today I'm afraid.
