In doing some checking, the load rating for the present hitch is 1000# MGTWR. So the hitch is sufficient. And it sounds as though no wdh will stop the push/pull from passing big rigs.

Absolutely! We take our cycle with us almost every camping trip! I did have to make a special slide in unit because my truck is a shortbed but it works great.
