If we are not going to be on the road too long, we shut it off. The frig will stay cold for several hours if the door is closed. Ours has actually stayed cold enough for a full day.

Just for info, I did get in touch with Ford and the 2002 Focus ZTW(manual) is towable without restrictions. Good info, nice lady. (Ford towing Ford I guess)
