Do as Jayco suggested and bring it in a foot and wait for it to drain itself.

We use fabreeze dryer sheets on the furnace vents and generous amounts in the basement. Campers in the same park use mothballs around wheels and stabilizer jacks. Not sure what works but sealing up...
