I take a 3" piece of duct tape and fold it equally over the opening. I then make sure that its sealed tightly to the tube nozzle and all seams are tightly closed.
Works for me.

I've run into that problem and found that using a 19mm 6 point socket instead of a 3/4 6 point socket, which is just slightly smaller helped prevent spinning of the decorative cover.
