2008 toyota tacoma prerunner

I had a similar experience last year when towing a rented Lance 1685 3000 miles last year from Seattle to Yellowstone and back with a 2011 Tacoma double cab long bed v6. It did hills ok but really...

2014 White Hawk Interior Pic

Oh how I wish they would put the entertainment center elsewhere. Having a short queen and the entertainment center jammed against the end of the bed was a deal breaker for 6' me, and one if the...

Vent covers

I just installed a Camco cover a few weeks ago. Haven't had the trailer out since. But it seemed well made and installed without issues. For the price I think I'll be happy with it.

5th TV - 2x4 or 4x4

Most 4x4 systems in trucks shouldn't be used unless on loose surfaces (offroad) or slippery surfaces (snow or ice). Some have an automatic mode which you can leave on and it will engage the other...

Road assistance/Extension cords

Fwiw, I called AAA today and was told the agent was unaware of any restrictions on covering a travel trailer as long as it was for personal use and not commercial use.

Towing question

How do your payload figures look? A 7500 lb dry trailer that'll probably end up north of 8500 lbs loaded will be putting 850 - 1275 lbs on the hitch. Most F150s (and most half tons) have 1200-1600...

Where did you find that aaa won't tow a double axle trailer? I just signed up for aaa rv plus, so I hope that's not the case.

Commercial RV hauling

Interesting. Definitely seems safer and easier on your truck to boot. Thanks for the info!

Commercial RV hauling

Great thread, love reading it. I am surprised that you use a wd hitch. I figured they wouldn't want the a frames marred during transit. Is that common practice?

How are Jayco's delivered to dealers?

Jayco does have a plant in twin falls Idaho I believe. I don't know what they make there, other than I saw a list of Jayflight updates that said for 2013 the JayFlight 19rd and 24fbs will be built...

Whitehawk 27DSRL opinions and experiences

We looked at a white hawk 26dsrb and the jay flight we ended up choosing. So different floorplan, but here are some things we didn't like about the white hawk line as much as the jay flight line:

The smell!!

I have one of those flexible inspection cameras that might work for peering in the ducts to see what's in there. I think it was around $130 at Home Depot, and has been useful for other stuff around...

Have You Verified Your Towing Set-up with A CAT Scale?

Yes, the day after getting the trailer. It was mostly empty at the time though, so have to receive when loaded.

Towing a 2013 White Hawk 28DSBH

Looks like the 2005 model had the 3 valve 5.4 with 300 hp and 365 ft lbs. you should be ok as long as you don't expect blistering performance. I'd hesitate if you had the older 2 valve.

If it...

My concern would be engine power and ...

Numbers from the CAT scale today for my Eagle 314BDS and F150.

Looks pretty good to me. Nice rig too! Good balance front and rear. I'd be curious what your unloaded truck and hitched but wd disconnected figures would look like.

WDH Question - Err on High or Low End?

Agree, error on the high side. If you go to low, you might not be able to transfer as much weight as you need to the front axles, and your sway control might not work well enough. Fwiw, I went with a...
