Murph, yep the box is the harder plastic boxes they sell for the 6v batteries. As well, it does lock on both sides.

Looks great. Will be on the hunt for a reasonable priced truck box. Just wondering about tongue weight. Trailer is at 425 and I am rated for 600. Those 6v are heavy. Am I pushing it?

6v battery mod for 2012 jayco 197

Need help on where to place two 6v batteries in a box on the tongue of the 197. Note that spare tire is in the front. I was thinking of moving tire to back but the bumper is not a full square bumper....

We are picking up our new Jayco Ultralite 197 trailer just in time for May Long Weekend up in Canada. Very excited! Also, new to the forum and looking forward to reading posts.
