Anyone towing with a Mini Van?

I'd like to see proof of this also. Just 1 or 2. With enough info so as to rule out me thinking "there is more to the story".

Replacing a hitch on a TV

I just saw a hitch replaced that needed it. It had cracked welds. It was an Oem hitch on a 1 ton dura max.

It had towed a toy hauler or an open car hauler probably 40-50k miles. Never overloaded...

Opinions on F250 V10.

I had an '03 F-350 and towed up to a 15k race trailer with it. The biggest load was an 11' truck camper with a Jeep on a trailer at about 7k.

Did great in all respects.

Can pass anything on...

2013 X17Z Dexter # 10 lift kit

The kit gives 2 5/8" of lift.

I lifted mine more than that and haven't seen a mpg change. My tow rig is as boxy as the trailer so it my not be representative. YMMV.

213x Black Water Drain Problems

Aside from the piece of mind with the plumbing height, the added height of the awning is really nice too.

I just need to change the step from one step to two now.

Prepare your home potty for the long camping trip away from home :-(

Pour vegetable oil in the drains. It won't evaporate and nothing to undo when you get back.

Need help with 26BH brake wiring

You are making it harder than it is.

There are 2 wires on each brake. As long as the aren't connected to each other, but are connected to the brake signal and ground you are fine.

213x Black Water Drain Problems

I didn't think I had a problem, but after the lift it drained faster and more completely. I think it's the angle the hose takes after the connection that gets **it rolling.

213x Black Water Drain Problems

My 165 sport was the same way. 4 inches from drain to ground.

Dexter makes a 2 5/8 inch lift for the #10 3500 torflex. I don't know if that's what you have.

I made a 6" lift for mine because...

Weighed my 2013 Ram today....

I have a question about these ratings.

I had an '03 F350 with a GCWR of 26k with 4.30 gears.

With the 3.73 gears it was a lot less, like 19k or so.

This was with tow packages etc on both....

Towing behind fifth wheel

There would be a lot of states where you are unwelcome. And forget backing up.

I have seen motorcycle carriers on the back that look like wheel chair lifts. Drive on, raise up, and go.

RV Q Grill

Do you know which model it is?

Size and included accessories would work too.

Thanks

Jayco 165 lift - Torflex#10 axle

Took mine on a trip for the last 4 days. About 250 miles on some winding mountain roads. Handled just like before the lift.

Had to put together some risers for the stab jacks and extend the...

Jayco 165 lift - Torflex#10 axle

I can't say for sure because I made my own. From the pic I can see the axle is bolted through the side like mine was. I can see the vertical hole in the axle is unused.

What I can't tell is what...

Would like to replace stock tires on x17Z with larger size.

The torflex axles are available in 4 heights, as determined by the angle of the arm when loaded. From 22 degrees up to 45 down.

Changing from zero to 45 gets you about 4". They are $300-400...

First long trip with raised Jayco 165

Mine had 14 inchers when I bought it.

I just raised it 6" and have a long trip planned for this weekend. I'll report here if that's ok.

Looks like I have room for more...

Towing woes

It sounds like either your tongue weight is too high, causing the trailer to drive the truck, or your hitch isn't set up properly, or the front end of your truck needs work (ball joints, alignment,...

Volvo xc90 and X23b - Opinions?

Besides all the weight stuff, your Volvo will be getting a new transmission with every other oil change. It is a weak point on those cars.

Jayco 165 lift - Torflex#10 axle

I had to cut my gray water line but I put it back together with couplings and no jog. It runs over the axle and below the added cross member.

I still need a solution for extending the stab jacks...

Jayco 165 lift - Torflex#10 axle

Done. 9437

Added structure weighs about 60 pounds. Cost about $110 in materials, half of that was nuts and bolts.

Now I have about 11" below the dump connection.

Hitch Procedure Question

If you don't put tension on the bars, then you really aren't using them.

Not everyone needs them, and not everyone realizes that.

Hitch Procedure Question

Yes. That puts tension on the bars at ride height. Otherwise they aren't doing anything.
