Even having a class and/or years of experience, changes can F you up, too. I went from an 11' tall rig to a 12'8" tall rig and, despite constantly thinking "look up, look up", I managed to drive...

There's a sensor up the street that gets triggered by overheight vehicles and activates the signboard and the red light. Not only do you destroy or damage your vehicle, but you get cited for running...

It =should= be t'other way 'round; Thor buy Lippert. That way, the manufacturer would own the component companies and could institute changes so the RV side would have fewer problems. :cussing:

Water, water, water! I've had the dreaded poop pile on 2 occasions; both times when boondocking and in a bit of water conservation mode. Not fun. We got to the point where we started doing our...

I understand, Barry. My biggest issue with these rigs is the anemic 32.5 gal black tank, since we boondock quite a bit. My old FW had 45 gal and we nearly filled it on a couple long weekend family...

Thanks, guys. Now my question is, would the frame be capable of handling an extra +/- 500 lbs if the axles were swapped out?

Your fridge problem =is= partly Jayco's "fault" as they chose to use it, instead of a different, possibly more reliable, model. This is, again, another problem in the industry as a whole. They buy...

So, it's not GM's fault if your Delco alternator goes belly up during warranty? If the auto industry was like the RV industry, you'd then have to find a Delco store to have your alternator fixed? ...

Eagle HT 27.5RLTS

Does anyone know what the axles are under the above FW? I'm wondering if it's the axles that limit the CCC to 9950/9995 or if it has more to do with the frame. TIA...

I'd certainly wait until warranty was out before any mod like this. I'd rather spend the money on a larger tank than spending it on a tote and a macerator pump to fill it in the bed of my truck. ...

Eagle HT 27.5RLTS

Any owners of one of these ever seen the underside "naked", without the belly covering? I'm specifically wanting to know if there's room for a larger black tank, as the 32.5 gal tank is pretty...

One thing to consider, if an HT has to be raised using the lower holes on the spring shackles, spring for a full wet bolt kit. Well worth it. Greaseable bolts, bronze bushings and heavier shackles...

Why must you be handy to own a new RV? You don't have to be handy to own a new car with anywhere from a 3/36 to 10/100 warranty, now, do you? It doesn't =hurt= but why should it be a requirement? ...

FWIW, Greg Gerber is a full-time RVer, and has been for a while. I think it's safe to say that he knows RVs.

This being said, how much more would it =really= cost to have 6k axles under that...

Might need to check axle alignment to be sure there's no issues with the axles/hubs. Go to a heavy truck/trailer shop. Not real expensive, from what I've heard.

Glad to hear that Jayco is stepping up on this. ALL mfrs should do so since they're the ones that put these junk tires on our RVs.

Towmax, aka Blowmax, are "China bombs" and it's not unusual to hear stories like this on much lighter trailers, let alone on that has a GVW of 15k. Towmax will laugh and tell you to buy another set....

Personally, I'm looking at the 27.5RLTS for my next FW. It is nearly 3' longer than my '02 Komfort 25FGW, which is a single-slide, low-profile, FW. The Komfort is one heavy beast, with an 11,300...

Did you also get the wet bolt kit? Every one I've seen also comes with heavier shackles as well as the greasable bolts and new, bronze bushings. If you did =not= then you =should=. :-)

I've never heard this. I =have= heard that ST tires run right at the edge of their "envelope", with little safety margin. The speed limit is simply to keep the tires from self-destructing if run >...
