Thanks guys, that's what I was figuring with the amount of bounce the one time I did it. Good thing I listened to that little voice in my head and stopped carrying the bikes like that.

I have a 26BHS with the spare mounted to the rear bumper. Is there a problem carrying 2 mountain bikes on a bike rack made for a jeep mounted to the spare tire? Is that too much weight...
