Michelin XPS RIB's. A real heavy duty truck tire with all steel casing. Be safe, not sorry. Not cheap, but in my opinion, absolutely the best.

You are exactly right. I had a rock guard on my toad and sustained numerous chips on the lower part under the guard. That is why I installed the bra on mine. This has eliminated any further chips.
