We went from 3500 to 5200 lb axles and i feel much better on the road now. We lucked out and were able to use the same 6-lug wheels that came with our trailer.

With the latch pulled inward it no longer closes tightly. Maybe I’ll try a piece of aluminum backer plate for now until I can look closer at cargo style latches.

We’ll even open ours part way when we pull over for 30-45 min while traveling just to help dry them out. Sometimes we’re on the road all day so I don’t want to take any chances with mildew.
