Just to check basics, did you flip the push/pull switch on the shower head itself? Let’s you shut off the water flow without having to twist the knobs closed every time.

We have the same issue with getting hot in the lower bunk. One of the very few design flaws in the unit. We just go with a fan pointed towards the bunk opening and it keeps our daughter comfortable....
