I don't think it was shorting to the ground on the romex. It was one of the main supports for the slide.... Thick piece of angle that supports the slideout. I'm sure it's attached to the frame...

Thank you everyone. The Fridge upgrade install went smoothly

The project went great. Hardest part was muscling the fridge in and out. Super happy I went this route. I also decided to add another Solar panel which required me to upgrade the solar controller....
