Firestone Transforce HT tires

Had 6 new Firestone TransForce HTs installed yesterday. I put a fair bit of miles on my truck in a short amount of time so I'll give a road report on these from time to time. I've read several good reviews on these and have talked to guys running them so I am confident they will wear well.

I put those on my motorhome when I had it. Best highway truck tires I ever owned by far. You made a good choice and will be happy with them.

I've tried just about all brands, but have had the best luck with Bridgestone Dueler ATs on my trucks. Part of the problem is the mile-long caliche & rock driveway before I hit the pavement. ... I do look forward to hearing how the Firestones wear, though.

I put a set on my truck 2 years ago. Like them so far, I have about 18,000 miles on them about 5,00 towing! Seem to be a good tire.

glad to hear more good things on these tires. I do approx. 13,000 miles a month, half of that towing so I will get a read on their wear quickly.

My truck came with them. My only complaint is they seem to ride a bit rough when not towing. When towing, they ride fine.

I had the Transforces installed on my 3/4 ton and they were a lot better than the factory tires (which I can't recall what they were now).

Just put around 4500 kms on them, half off that towing, and they ride decent loaded and empty. Saw some intense rain and water on the road and felt ho hydro-planning. So far I'm content with them.

I had 6 put on mine last year with 2K in towing and very happy with them. Best part is that they were made in the USA! Great wear so far and I thought the ride improved. You should be happy.

I had Transforce HT's on my 1/2 ton. The 3/4 ton came with Bridgestone Duravis. I wish I had the Transforce HT's instead. When it comes time for replacement, you know what I'll be getting.

When I asked around the majority of people with duallys seem to be running the TransForce HTs or the Duravis. Firestones where a few $$$ cheaper and I heard better things on them.

The Duravis are okay, but I found the Transforce HT were more firm when towing, and seemed to be better behaved as a result. Not a large difference, but noticeable.

I put a new set of Transforces on my PU just before leaving for AK. They gave an excellent ride with no problems on the drive up. I only have about 5000 miles on them, so would hope they would hold up!!

Put a set of Tranforces on my F350 on the recommendation of my local tire dealer, and have been VERY pleased after 2 1/2 camping seasons towing the 11,000lb 5er, and the ride when not towing. Very little wear - look almost new.

I now have just over 90,000 KMS on these Firestones and they are wearing awesome. I would say they are less than 40% worn at this point but that is just an eyeball guess not measuring tread depth. Much better than the previous Goodyears I had. Will be picking up some TransForce ATs to run this winter. Guys I have talked to say they run those year round and get better wear than the HTs. Cant see how with an aggressive tread but we will see.

Also, I wonder if the AT's make more tread noise on the highway. Inquiring minds would like to know your experience with this, if you do get the AT's.

New Transforce HTs on my TV took me to Alaska and back this summer without any of the tires themselves being of any issue. Of course the roofing nail I ran over was another story. After a plug and patch on it, those tires are still going strong. I'm very impressed with the even wearing and exceptional ride qualities I am getting from them. I'm assuming they will be up to the task of managing winter weather conditions.

I will post my results. I would like to get a few more miles on the HTs before switching over for winter. Paying to install / balance 6 tires in not fun. I will likely post the used ones for sale locally and try and recoup some of my $$$$. Reality is these tires probably still have 2-3 years of driving on them for the everyday Joe.

Forgot to update this post. I replaced the HTs with a set of ATs sometime last December. Ran the ATs until yesterday and put 130,000 kms on them. The front's still had a bit of life in the but the rears were done. Bought 6 more Transforce ATs and kept going. I fond the road noise to be nothing and they handle loads very well. I recommend this tire to anyone I meet!
