Cheap $1.49 LED direct 921 Replacements

I was looking for cheaper 921 replacement bulbs for my landscaping lights.
I found these for $1.49ea (comes in package of 10ea)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I took them out to my TT to compare with the LEDs that I previously purchased (3X the cost) with 3 additional LEDs

The light is softer, a little more yellow like standard bulbs, but brightness is equal.

Just wanted to pass these along as a cheaper version and with the standard base. No adapter needed.

FYI,
Doug

WOW Doug.... That does seem like a good value!

Even though I have the e-bay ones coming in, I may try this and compare the two bulbs. I like the fact that the base is a direct fit and you don't have to fiddle around with the bases like the China bulbs, or trying to get the sticky pad to work.

Thanks for the link.....

Wow...those are 5 LED Wedge?

I replaced my 921 bulbs with LED panels that had 48 LEDs (SMD48)...at a full frontal projection, the 48 LEDs were still producing less lux than the stock 921 bulb....here's a link to my testing thread....

You must be lighting your TT with night lights!!!!

Yep Threebutchers,
I was surprised how bright they were. I thought I wouldn't be satisfied with them for my landscaping lights.

I'll try to take a side by side picture today.

Now if you put a light meter on each, I am sure the smaller LEDs are less bright, but not very noticeable.

For the price, they may be an option for some people to evaluate. I could definitely live with them.

I was running the standard 921 bulbs previously.

Doug,
Here is a Do It Yourself tip...
Unfortunately the T10 (921) base LEDS do not have any soft white bulbs (in the 3000k spectrum) with high lumens(300 Lumens), that I could find, so I made my own. My original order was about 6 bulbs (t10) but Bright White in color. DW hated them. So I ordered a couple of the Ba15s base (old fashioned car parking light bulb base) Soft White LED bulbs (66 LEDS - 300 Lumens) see below.. I then removed the base from the inexpensive T10 bulbs and soldered 2 wires to the Ba15s bulb and slipped them into the T10 base. Works great.. much brighter (in soft white).. the wife could not tell the difference between the original incandescent bulbs in the fixture and the new Soft Whit LEDS. It is a lot easier on the eyes and easier reading with the soft white now. Still looking for the very inexpensive Ba15s (3000k/300Limens) for future upgrades. Will get some soft white T10 base bulbs for above the bed, but not as bright as the ones I made. Also trying to find just the T10 base with out a bulb. Has to be out there (internet) some where....

I put these in my landscaping lights tonight.
They look much whiter and brighter. No more incandescence for me.
I will really enjoy not having landscaping lights going out all the time.

Happy, Happy

Just to be clear, these are a direct replacement for the interior lights of a travel trailer right? No other gizmos to wire in, attach, hook-up, build, modify, or destroy?

Sigh... haven't even taken possession of my TT yet and I'm already looking at mods. Sheesh!

Yes,
Both of these are direct replacement for 921 2V bulbs. I believe that is what comes standard in most TT's, but call and verify with the service department for your particular model.

These are the smaller ones, right side of comparison picture above.

These are larger and more expensive. left in above picture

I bought a 10 pack of these based on your experience, dougtoms01. I'm replacing the stock incandescent 921 bulbs with these LEDs. I'll post a side-by-side pic when they come in.

Looking forward to your pics.

I'll try to take pics of my landscaping lights too.

Have you tried the e-bay ones from China?

I just got some in and like them so far, but I may try these since they're so cheap and compare the two.....

I have not tried the flat panel ones.
I initially steered away from them because some people were having trouble with the sticky tape holding.

Now, I have everything replaced and a couple spares so I didn't order anything else.

Best regards,
Doug
