Just how much does Jayco REALLY care????

It occurred to me today that Jayco is noticeably absent from participation in this forum. I have seen active participation from management team members in several other forums mostly in the various Forrest River brand forums such as Wildcat, PrimeTime and others. Also as of late the executive staff at the highest levels of Camping World and GoodSam are participating quite actively on the RV.net forums.

IMHO this participation shows a genuine concern for customer service and satisfaction. I have not seen a single post here from anyone who claims to be a Jayco employee, or associated with Jayco in any official capacity. This is not to say that there aren't any, I just haven't seen them. This makes me wonder if they just don't give a hang about what we are out here saying. I know they have a presence on Facebook but all I have seen there is a bunch of patting themselves on the back and cheer leading from the "happy campers" there.

I dunno, just seems to me that they would want to be here too.

Thanks for letting me sound off.

Steve,

The Jayco OWNERS Forum is just that. It's not Jayco sponsored. If you have a complaint with Jayco, it's best you call them or email them. Personally, I have found them to be quite responsive and accommodating... even though I bought my trailer "like new" but used... so no warranty.

Anyway, if you are having a problem, why not post something about it and the rest of us OWNERS can/will try to help.

Take care

There is no problem at the moment, I was merely commenting on the lack of participation by Jayco people, it was only an observation and a question for the other members here. It can be helpful at times if someone with the knowledge, connections, and insight would chime in and help.

It would be a great way for the company to better understand what their customers are thinking and what they like/dislike.

If for no other reason than from a marketing perspective, it can be very beneficial for any company to use what ever resources are available to them to engage customers, both current and prospective. These forums provide that opportunity but evidently Jayco chooses not to participate.

Steve

My son bought another brand last summer. He found a forum that was factory sponsored. When he posted about a problem with his slide it had disappeared by the next day. They did take care of his problem but nothing but warm fuzzy's are on the forum. We are much better off without them because this forum is independant. You are right, they should be reading the posts here every day.

I would put money on it that Jayco checks in (lurking) on JOF and some of the other RV forums. I'm sure they want to know what is being said about their products, and the competition.

Just my thoughts.

I, for three, also feel that Jayco is probably watching this forum....why wouldn't they? For reasons we all know, they would not activly participate here but this forum and maybe others would be a good source to monitor "customer satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) as well as Q.C. and maybe R&D.

I have contacted Jayco through the Jayco Blog and the following is the response I got:

["Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns with the current in dash radio and sound distribution. We were recently made aware of the situation you have described below from a new Greyhawk owner. I can tell you this is a priority project for Jayco on its 2013 model year change over. We appreciate your loyalty and always appreciate customer feedback. I frequently visit the Jayco Owners forum and snoop around for ideas and issues Jayco should address. Please feel free to continue to send product input or concerns to me at any time."]

I had asked Jayco if they ever visited this forum, and that is the response I got. I personally believe their response was sincere.

MichaelD, thanks for the information. It is good to know that they are reading what we have to say. Now if they would only make the storage doors just a little bigger than the storage area so things will slide in easier. Hint, hint

I have seen IP addresses from Jayco online here before, so yes I do believe they keep an eye on things. From what I have seen, they have chosen to address customer problems through social media, such as Facebook.

I completely understand them not being here as it could be a lot for them to deal with. It also allows the forum to remain completely independent.

Got a few ideas....let me ponder on something.....

You dont have to come here to read the forum comments you know... Do this....

Type into the google search window "Does JAYCO really care" and see where it takes you....

I suspect the number one hit will be this forum.... Big brother got you covered....

NOTE: just did this here and it brought me right back here just as I suspected.... Kinda scary HUH!!!
I guess if you type in your forum "member name" into google it will list all of your forum posts...

Speaking as someone who works as a senior marketing person for a large company, I would Guess Jayco as chosen to not have people assigned to this forum because they have official channels to handle those things. I am willing to bet a lot of money they read them. Companies operating in non sponsored or controlled media is legally risky.

They do not care, still have 50% or more of the market and turning out rubbish.
I was told by a dealer when complaining about water leaks that jayco has a water test bay which he has never seen wet on all his visits.
That is why the net is full of complaints re boot leaks on jayco vans.
