Hi there !

Hi everyone. Im Kent from Victoria BC Canada. Proud owner of a Jayco 26jtx travel trailer that we (my family of 4) keep on a local island, Pender Island. Its our 5th summer of enjoyment. Its been a gem except for recent hot water tank problems (fires up, but clicks and shuts down). Im going over the try it out again this weekend.

Cheers
Kent

Klboag - welcome to the forum... we're relatively new to Vancouver Island and haven't made it beyond the west-shore (Sooke/Port Renfrew etc.). Very interested in camping on some of the Gulf Islands but not sure where to head to...any suggestions? What's available on Pender?

Hi McMonk, I know the Gulf Islands very well. Best camping is likely Montague on Galiano Island. There really isnt any camping on Mayne (a few private) and Saturna (none). Pender has a Federal campsite, called Prior Centennial. Its in the woods and like most provincial ones. The campsite is plain but Pender is my favorite island (and I think Prior has availability, unlike Montague). There lots to see ! And you pay only one way on the ferry. Im running out to pender right now. If you're going to Pender, send me a line and I'll outline 5-6 must see's !
Cheers

Thanks, Kent... forgot it was only a one-way charge for the crossing to the little islands - makes it even more enticing to go! We'll need to get over for a few days, maybe some fall camping. We'll be heading up to Miracle Beach for a week this month - first time up that side of the island and our (I'm ashamed to say) first 'true' summer trip for 2011!
