2005 Jayco 19RB mods consolidated.

Looong time since I've updated anything here. My job status has changed a bit and while I was mostly living in my trailer for work, now I'm only staying in it one night a week for work, owing to a crappy schedule.

This has been on my radar for awhile now. I've long wanted to put mudflaps on the trailer to keep the spray coming off of a wet road to a minimum on the rear stabilizer jacks. I merely cut a 24" x 24" napa truck mudflap in two. Used a boxcutter and some grade 8 hardware. Should have done this a long time ago..

Also, I got a better looking switch panel for my fridge fans. The two on the outside are for the fans at the top, and the center is for the valterra fan blowing upwards.

Tire time...beat this price! Obviously mis-marked, but they only lemme have two at that price, and not the four that I needed. Can't complain!

I ended up getting four new wheels off of Facebook Marketplace, repainted them white, and had the tires mounted this morning. Next step is to replace the center caps and I will be using the longer chrome lug nuts.

Something that I have been wanting to do for awhile now was to add backup lights to the trailer. When I come home at night it’s typically about 12:30am and there is NO ambient light at my house. Seems as if the other vehicles are never in the same spot, so this one was a natural.

To add backup lights merely open up the junction box usually located on the front of the trailer frame and access the yellow wire. Mine was capped off. I then added two wires connecting to that and ran each along the underside of the frame, thru the grommet holes to the rear bumper. For lights literally there is an endless selection of price color, size...etc. Flood/utility lights are what’s needed vs fog/driving lights. I purchased two from Autozone that are LED and approx $20.00 each.

Mounting them is very straightforward and should pose no difficulty to anyone. All connections are crimped with heat shrink. Less than $50.00 invested and approx 1hr. Totally worth it!!

Something that a lot of people do and I finally did was to replace the faucets. I chose the oil rubbed bronze finish as it would look best with the black cabinet pulls and hinges. I ordered the kitchen and bathroom faucets from etrailer.com. The kitchen faucet is actually metal and not plastic. Also replaced the tub faucet/shower diverter and spray wand. After this was completed, I got a soap dispenser at Home Depot and placed that in the kitchen sink.

And by far the biggest “mod” is a new truck to pull it with.
