Hello! We recently picked up a used 2010 Seneca 36MS and I’m trying to figure out where the auto generator start safety signal is wired to? My guess is that it will go to ignition, but where exactly? Mine doesn’t sense the ignition on/off to enable auto mode.

Thanks for replying, but there has to be a safety wire connection somewhere or the auto feature doesn't enable. It will either be the brake, the transmission being in park or the ignition turning on and off. This is on the older EC-30 auto start.

This is the only connection diagram I heve seen related to the auto start. Not much info here

The orange wire on the right side of the BIM is what I suspect to be it. I’ll have to test voltage there when the ignition is on. Basically, the safety signal wire just needs to sense 12 volts and then 0 volts to activate the auto start safety, right? If so, any 12 volt source with a toggle on/off should suffice. I ask this because I’m also going to be replacing that BIM with an LiBIM, which doesn’t have the gen-set hookup on it.

I am not sure as I don't have the same auto start system as you and I switched to lithium in 2023 and have not had any need to have the unit auto start since then. I now have 600 amp hours which is three times the original set up. I also eliminated the BIM unit as I now have a DC/DC unit. The house batteries are maintained via a low amp charge from my inverter/chanrger unit. I would assume you are correct on the on off signal, it appears that the BIM operating keeps the auto start active.

taken from the manual:

never mind... this forum upgrade does not allow anything of the past features to help another Seneca owner. I can't attach the document, nor cut/paste the contents.

I appreciate the effort. I read the manual. Unfortunately, it isn’t clear as to where exactly the safety sensing wire terminates to. Did you find something else?

google for a document that is listed like this: 900-0541B_Onan_Energy_Command... JOF keeps cutting it up as I post it.

Here is a Jayco EC-10 wiring diagram

That’s it! Looks like I’m looking for the dark blue/white positive connection and the orange/white ground to make sure they are good. Thanks!

Learned something new, albeit 10 years after I traded my 08. Never had an issue with ours so never looked at the side of it.

There are some wiring connections behind the driver's side kick plate, so you may want to check there. At least there was on on ours.
