I currently own a 06 23B but and picking up my new 2016 28BHBE next week. Looking for thoughts and advice on how my 2012 ford expedition EL will handle the camper or what i can do to the expedition? The owners manual says with a WD hitch (i use a Husky center line TS) i can tow up to 10K. I have added a K&N air filter and planning to have a magnaflow exhaust installed as well. Living in southern, VA there are always going to be mountains to pull going to any destination. I know a truck would be a better option but with 3 kids, Wife and dog in tow a truck does not have a third row.

Thanks for all the help.

I think the 28 BHBE is about 6500 lbs.

Remember, 6500 lbs + you + momma + kids + dog + everything else = ????
And don't forget tongue weight.

Keep in mind adding the exhaust and towing long distances can get annoying to some people in the TV. My g/f wants me to swap out the BA muffler(bolt-in) for stock on our 8+ hour trip to Canada. Depends on how loud the system is I guess. Sounds real good taking off and nice and quiet on the highway except when I'm towing.

Best of both worlds

You can have the best of both worlds. Pick up a couple of these Electric Exhaust cutouts and install them in front of where the STOCK exhaust mufflers connect to the engine. The straight through muffler will be the QUIET one (for towing) and the one activated by the cutoffs will be the PERFORMANCE mufflers. Both mufflers will reconnect behind the stock QUIET muffler before the tailpipe. You will probably have to have a shop weld them in.

Just a thought,

Don
