2014 26y octane front cap and rear door fading

I have 2014 octane the front cap and rear door door fading, has anyone else had this problem, will jayco do anything, looks terrible for a 4 year old RV any suggestions?

My front cap has faded. If out of warranty then no help from Jayco.

I've stripped all the decals from mine and wet sanded it. Debating whether to just shoot a few coats of clear and see how it holds up or do a vinyl wrap. I also found cracks in mine around the two clearance lights.

There are numerous threads about fading caps. JAYCO buys those from a third party, just like the doors. Being that old I think it would be a stretch to get any "warranty assistance", but you never know.

I don’t understand the complaints about this. UV rays are going to cause fading and if you leave your rv outside 24/7 365 for 4 years it’s going to fade. Religiously waxing might slow it down but the only solution is covered storage.

Its under a cover for 6 months out of the year

But the other 6 months is UV happy time, as Farnik said: waxing will slow it down.
Trim around homes fade too.

If it was simply a matter of fading then I could see your point. The dark brown caps were chalking within 2 years as some were covered by warranty. I don't buy new RV's so I don't get warranty (saves my the stress of dealing with a service dept too). Normally gelcoat will go 10+ yrs before starting to break down.

Got a price for a vinyl wrap on the front cap. It was 1800$CDN so that isn't going to happen.

Wet sanded and cleared it instead after spending a few hours scraping off the graphics.

Even with Vinyl wrap they promises the whole world for life time, anything what is exposed to UV will fade. Mine is white but both ends did fade, I just keep the wax on it.
If it need a new paint job I will use automotive paint.

Mine is the dark brown. Not sure why any RV would be a dark color. They're kinda intended to be used in nice sunny weather. When I was masking it off the top of the cap was 175F surface temp with 85F air temp.

Wax won't stop the fading, need a UV blocker for that. Maybe keep it covered with suntan lotion.

Even if you do a wooden fence with a dark color, they peel faster than white.
Hey you can start a business with Suntan lotion, RV Friendly.

Try Zep Wet-Look Floor Polish to restore color and shine

Our 2015 Jayco Eagle Premier fifth wheel looked like new everywhere except on the top front cap. It was originally dark brown, but faded to an ugly tan color. We debated whether to have it redone or not. I looked around online and found that many people are using this Zep Wet-Look Floor Polish. We decided to give it try. After washing well, we applied 4 thin coats of the Zep. After the first coat, the brown color came back, but was a little smeared looking. After 4 coats, it looks like new. It really is amazing!! Google Zep floor polish to restore finish on RVs. There is a lot of info about it online, almost all positive. Sure worked for us!!

You can try to call Jayco to see if they will help with some of it. There was a person I know of who needed multiple areas of their unit painted and Jayco agreed to cover body paint if customer would cover decals. But like what those above said if you are too far out of warranty then they will most likely not help very much.

if it is fiberglass gel coat then you can use a wool pad and an orbital buffer and some 3m finesse (may have to go to something stronger if finesse doesn't work) and then a sealer and wax it.. you need to wax it at least 2 times a year.. just like a boat... on gel be careful with wet sanding unless you know what you are doing the coat of gel is very thin...

another thing to try is 303 that works well.. easy mans way!
