Hello,
We have found a 2016 Precept 31UL that has our attention for potential purchase. Except...now we're not really sure what it is???
The VIN indicates it is a 2016. However, the nomenclature plate/sticker by the drivers door indicates it has 22.5" wheels (2016 has 19.5"). It also lists the GVWR at 22,000 lbs (which would be the 2017 with the heavier F-53 chassis). The wheelbase is the shorter 190" (which would be for a 2016 & 2017). The graphics are from the 2017 lineup. The refrigerator vents (the top one) is on the roof like a 2017. The 2016 used two wall vents. It also has the sewer macerator which is listed on the 2017 model. Lastly...the sticker by the door (outside) that says Precept 31UL and has a QR code. Following the QR code it takes you to the brochure for a 2017.
How do I tell, by looking at the frame if it is the smaller 2016 or the larger 2017 version? One of my concerns is that if they put (for whatever reason) the 22.5" wheels on the 2016 frame, the big problems would be the differential gear ratio. I can't imagine making a 4" tire height increase without making gear changes.
If anyone can provide some clarity for this Frankenstein...your input would be appreciated!
OH...I also have questions about winter-time operations...since we also do winter camping. But, I will post that on a different thread.
